February in Lanzarote
Bring your party clothes - this is the height of fiesta time in Lanzarote. Two of the biggest events are the week-long Arrecife Carnival in the middle of February and the Puerto del Carmen Carnival at the end. Think floats, fireworks, music and, err, burying a giant sardine on the beach. It's hot in the day but gets chilly at night, so make sure you pack something warm for going out. February in Qatar
This is the best time to visit Qatar - it's nice and warm, without being humid. You'll feel a warm Gulf breeze strolling down the Corniche promenade in Doha, where you can also see some of the city's best landmarks. In mid-February the six-stage Tour of Qatar attracts the cream of cycling, and you can watch the competitors battle the winds in their multi-coloured jerseys, racing against the desert backdrop. February is the driest month of the year in Miami. Lots of the city's showpiece events are held then, so if you can tear yourself away from the beach, the Miami International Boat Show will have everything from super yachts to family skiffs to look at. The annual South Beach Food and Wine Festival is four days of pure indulgence with tastings, demonstrations and culinary activities.
